BELGIAN CAFÉ STUFF
All updates welcome. You can send info direct to CMaynardMelthrop@aol.com
Loads of new cafés coming along including several intending to go straight into the Top Twenty. Try the Oude Speye (7 Kerkstraat) in Damme, West Flanders and the Veer (2 Hoogstraat) in Schellebelle, East Flanders.
DUTCH CAFÉ STUFF
Is there anyone alive and on line in the Netherlands. Getting news of new Dutch beer cafés or even the progress of old ones is becoming difficult. You can send info direct to CMaynardMelthrop@aol.com
Maximiliaans' café in Amsterdam is now a new Beiaard. Its beer range has increased to Beiaard group standards.
Noordwijk, the upmarket coastal resort in South Holland seems to have numerous green shoots of beeriness emerging. Guide reader Ian Porter spotted nine draft beers and an increasing number of bottles in the Punt (2 Hoofdstraat), plus an advert for 80 beers in the Oude Brug ("just off the main drag"). Good thing too as the Guide's current entry, the Harbourlights appears to be losing what beer interests it had. It is a no. 52 bus to Sassenheim and the continuing glories of the Twee Wezen.
